With the development of economic society, electric power has become a pillar industry in China, and the research on the power industry has gradually deepened. Transmission line is an important part of the power system, which plays a role in the transmission and distribution of electrical energy. The stable and safe operation of the transmission line is the strong guarantee of the rapid economic development. Wireless sensor network, as a new platform for information access, can real-time monitor and collect information about various detection target in the monitoring area. It can play an important role in a variety of information monitoring systems.For the different requirements of different businesses to delay transmission line monitoring, bandwidth, latency and jitter quality of service, this article proposes a transmission line monitoring of wireless sensor networks access solutions based on multi-service, which is capable of self-organization in wireless technology support, and meet the demand with a variety of network transmission services. The transmission line on-line monitoring system, based on wireless sensor networks use dates to monitor communications between the node and the wireless gateway in wireless sensor technology, with our own network, automatic routing, low power, low cost and other advantages. Moreover, the communication between wireless gateways and remote monitoring center is finished by the combination of power cable and GPRS data services, which has the advantages of high-speed, low-cost and long-distance transmission.This article firstly describes the background and significance of the development of online monitoring system of transmission lines and introduced the existing the communication methods for transmission lines. Then analyze the different demands and introduces a suitable transmission line condition monitoring based on a variety of business and transmission line monitoring, and introduces wireless sensor networks multiservice access strategy. Then design an overall scheme of a wireless sensor network gateway system, including the design of hardware modules and software system modules.
