Design And Implementation Of Degree Thesis Format Detection System

The quality of degree thesis is related to a student can obtain a degree,every university has strict requirements on the content and format of the degree thesis.In order to meet the requirements of thesis format,students and instructors take a lot of effort on the manual review thesis format,and prone to defects.Therefore,providing a service can accurately detect the format of degree thesis will greatly reduce the burdens of students and instructors when manually review theses format.Most of degree theses are written by Microsoft Word,but a few software can provide thesis format detection.The software contains format function have the low accuracy and slow speed when detecting thesis format,and need to be installed locally which is inconveniently to use.The goal of this article is to build a web system to providing accurate service of degree thesis format detection.According to the system requirements analysis and existing technology,the system is divided into two parts,detection procedure and detection website.The detection procedure is developed on Open XML SDK technology,and is divided into three modules of unit location,format extract and comparison,which can detect eight parts of the thesis in detail include cover,abstract,contents,text,figure,table,reference and so on.The detection procedure can detect multiple types of degree thesis,and generate a well formed detection report of txt file type.The detection website using SSH framework technology,is implemented into four modules,provides multiple functions including the user management,thesis format detection,detection history query and feedback processing.In testing phase,in order to effectively test detection procedure,a special test tool was developed,and the detection website was also carried on the strict test at this time.The degree thesis format detection system provides detection service on the website,can detect two types of master's degree thesis of Dalian University of Technology.Users can just upload the docx format thesis on the website,and can quickly check the generated thesis format detection report.It is simple and convenient to use.Hundreds of theses were detected on the website after deployed online in 2016,the average time of generating an accurate detection report is less than 1 second,which can help students and instructors reducing the burden of reviewing theses format.
