Since the reform and opening up in 1978,China's economy has been developing rapidly,and the process of urbanization has been pushed forward.In order to improve the competitiveness of the city,the city government began to actively explore ways and means to enhance the competitiveness of cities.As an important standard to measure the competitiveness of city,city image is regarded as an important part of urban competitiveness.Good image of the city can enhance the sense of belonging to the community as a member of the community,as well as a sense of pride,and form a cohesive force,can enhance the city's cultural conservation,highlighting the unique charm of the city.At the same time,a good image of the city can not only effectively improve the city's visibility and reputation,but also the talent pool,capital,technology and other advantages of resources,so as to enhance the competitiveness of the city,promote the city image communication.In this paper,the management of the SWOT situation analysis of the Urumqi city image of the spread of the 5W elements of a general comb,and try to find out the practical image of the city of Urumqi dissemination strategy.First,in the image of the city communication research to the domestic and foreign related literature and the achievements are made based on the detailed research,summarizes the connotation of city image and composition,and expatiates on the city image communication function from the economic,social and cultural three aspects.Followed by a brief overview of the geographical conditions and historical evolution of Urumqi,and combined with the "5W" mode of communication,the "5W" elements of the city image of Urumqi were analyzed in detail.Finally,based on the analysis of SWOT,borrow management analysis method as the analysis tool,in-depth analysis of Urumqi in the city image communication strengths(S)and opportunities(O)and the weaknesses(W)and threats(T),and in a wide range of previous research results are put forward on the basis of for a series of Urumqi city image communication strategies,in order to substantive guidance on Urumqi city image communication.
