Recent years,with the development of computer,network communication,automatic control and sensor technologies,the laboratory management is becoming more and more intelligent.The traditional laboratory management mainly depends on the inspection of the person being on duty.The laboratories often equipped with sensors for a smoke detection system in which wired communication is mostly used.In this paper,the current development of laboratory management system was analyzed and the characteristics of a variety of network communication technology was studied.A newly improved laboratory monitoring system was designed based on ZigBee technology.The designed laboratory monitoring system is achieved by using an ARM embedded gateway,a ZigBee coordinator and some ZigBee sensor nodes.Working as a main controller,the ARM11 will achieve remote access via the Internet.The CC2530 and a variety of sensors will play roles as a coordinator and sensor network hardware of ZigBee.The main content of this paper is to transplant an embedded Linux operating system,build a Web server Boa and design hardware and software for ZigBee data acquisition and CGI programs.In the end,this paper provides a platform for user on which one can grasp the real-time information of the laboratory via the Internet such as the information on the device and the electrical equipment etc.
