The Research On Failure Factor Of Applications Of Power Semiconductor Power Modules

The development of power electronic devices plays a decisive role on the development of power electronic technology.The reliability is key to the development of the power modules and the failure and the potential defects of the power modules have an important influence on the security of the equipment.The failure of the power modules occurres in the process of the usage sometimes.Research on failure and influencing factors of power modules and making an optimization design program can help to improve the reliability of power modules.This dissertation will focus on the failure factor analysis of the electric semiconductor modules.First of all,according to the characteristics of the power modules,the internal structure,external structure and the function of the power module are described.On the basis of this,the failure principle of power modules is expounded.The second,from the possible angle of causing power semiconductor modules' failure to analyze power modules' failure factors,it sum up can be roughly three kinds of factors: modules' manufacturing defect factors,external factors of applying modules,internal factors of applying modules.Then the common failure modes of the modules are described,and the typical failure phenomena are illustrated by examples.Finally,from the actual case of power semiconductor modules' failure in application,investigate the invalid modules' information,understand its status in application,start the corresponding experiments by combining with the phenomenon of failure,verify one by one the influencing factors by the fish-bone diagram method,simulate the phenomenon of failure module in application,determine failure mechanism,put forward the improved and optimized measures,furtherly construct the flow diagram of the failure analysis and modules' failure tree.Modules' failure tree helps to improve the ability of analysts to find the potential fault and diagnose the fault,So as to improve the reliability of power semiconductor power module.
