High performance index of the reconfigurable antenna become an indispensable part of modern wireless communication,the development of a new generation of reconfigurable antenna technology is imminent.In this paper,the solid plasma mainly formed by way of electric excitation in intrinsic semiconductor area.Its conductivity will increase with the increase of carrier concentration in the body,when the carrier concentration reaches a certain value,the solid state plasma will be similar to metal properties.In the case,they can be used to design feed network and radiator of the antenna.Based on the theories of antenna and solid state plasma,the electrically controlled solid state plasma antenna has carried on the preliminary research.On the basis of the theory and technology of semiconductor,two different structure of semiconductor PIN units are designed which respectively are vertical substrate based on GaAs material and horizontal structure based on Si material.We study their physical characteristics and analyze the relationship between carrier concentration changes with bias voltage.We designed a microstrip line whose middle region is composed of the solid state plasma units.The effect of discrete distance in different directions and number of solid state plasma units on the transmission characteristics of microstrip lines is studied.Considering the actual machining process,we study the influence of the external circuit related to different structures on the transmission characteristics of the microstrip line.The antenna is designed with a GaAs-PIN unit in the balun structure and the director part,which realizes the switch of the radiation directions of-25°,0 ° and 25 °.Processing the metal objects,the antenna return loss and the direction of the map were tested.A frequency reconfigurable antenna is designed based on the S-PIN unit.The different radiating surfaces are formed by exciting S-PIN units at different positions on the surface.The antenna can be switched between the two frequency bands including 6GHz and 35 GHz and we designed an array antenna in the 35 GHz frequency of the work.
