Along with social survival pressure and family life pressure,the prevalence of postpartum depression in China also constantly improves.We can often see many family tragedies caused by postpartum depression from media,so the prevention and treatment of postpartum depression is imminent.The prevention and treatment of postpartum depression should not only start from the physiological factor,but also pay more attention to social support got by puerpera.Within seven weeks from maternal childbirth is the onset period of postpartum depression.During this period,the interpersonal communication and social support gap between the puerpera and the spouse will directly affect the maternal emotional accumulation.Based on this background,this study focuses on the analysis of the psychological status and the change of social support expectations,and further explores the difference of social support provided by the spouse for the puerperal from the last month before childbirth to the first 42 days after childbirth,and then analyzes the influence of the social support gap on the mental state of puerpera.This thesis is based on the elaboration likelihood model of persuasion,from the perspective of interpersonal communication,with the puerperas before and after childbirth and their spouses from Guangdong maternal and child health care hospital as the object of the research.This study adopts the method of questionnaire and semi-structured interview to analyze the mental state and social support expectation of puerpera,the change of social support provided by the spouse before and after childbirth by convenient sampling,explore the difference of social support got by puerpera before and after childbirth and the influence of social support on the mental state of the puerpera.Findings are as follows: firstly,puerpera's social support expectations change before and after childbirth.Puerperal want more subjective support from spouse before childbirth,but want spouse to offer more objective support after childbirth.Secondly,spouse supplies puerpera with different social support before and after childbirth.Thirdly,puerpera's expectations for social support provided by spouse divide before and after childbirth.Fourly,social support from spouse has significant influence on puerpera's emotional state.Social support gap from spouse can make puerpera more anxious and can affect postpartum depression of puerperal.The social support provided by spouse directly affects maternal psychological state,so we should pay more attention to the guidance of spouse's social support in the process of prevention and treatment of postpartum depression.So that puerperal can be satisfied by social support,obtain good mental state,with the healthy development of family environment and the healthy growth of infants.
