The QQ and the Wechat have played an important role in Chinese people’s life after the China introduce the internet technology. Both of them has a larger number of users and has developed many entertaining functions. However, the most core function of these two apps is still socialization and communication. Besides, the interesting part is that these two similar products belong to the same company called Tecent and they all have become the important tools to support people’s communication. In recent years, the comparison study of these two apps has become the hot topic of the internet industry but it is still ignored by the academic area. These two products have a mass of experience in terms of the internet communication so it can lead us to rethink the value and truth of the needs for the online communication of the people. In the PC time, QQ is the most popular chatting software in China but in the mobile internet time the Wechat become the more popular and hot social app.The two apps can influence the people’s behavior in different communication environment, receivers and needs. However, the Wechat become more and more intimated and simple, placing more importance on the user friendly. In the same time,the QQ stress the multi-function and the ability of the office word, try to meet the more needs of users. In the communication environment, the Wechat plays a more important part in the communication with users and their friends, families and other personal relationships. But the QQ become more powerful in the office room,becoming the powerful tools in people’s working issues.This study use the 5W model as the framework, discussing the similar points and different points of Wechat and QQ through comparing their users, receivers, channels,contents and effects, finding the reasons and the motivation behind them.
