With the mutual penetration of the telecommunication service and the Internet business,the competition between the Internet and the traditional telecommunications is becoming more and more obvious.We raise higher requirements for carrieroperator to provide the ability,efficiency and quality of telecom services.IMS is considered to be the core technology of the future communication network.Wuxi Unicom plan to transforms fixed users to IMS.First of all,the paper introduces the subject background,significance and domestic and overseas research situation.Combining with Wuxi Unicom current fixed network situation and problems,the paper researches on the IMS network construction based on the transformation of fixed network and designs IMS network structure solution that interworking with current fixed network,which mainly incluing IMS network framework,network scale prediction,core network element and element disadter recovery mode.Therefore,it introduces on network related supporting systems of IMS such as routing interworking,network bearing,number address,IP assignment,billing system and network management etc.The first transforms NGN users due to the weak support,and then transforms PSTN users.The shenme prposed has been implemengted step by in the latter part of the projest construction process,which eventually proved that it is practical and feasible to deploy IMS network in Wuxi Unicom.After the transformation,the current IMS online registered users reached more than 65 thousand.The research results of this paper make for thefixed network transformation and have important reference value for IMS to realize the whole business operations that provides a unified platform.
