Research On Internet News Participation

With the development of the Internet,the way people get news has changed dramatically.Meanwhile,their way of news participation,has also changed a lot – from passive acceptanting information,to actively searching and evaluating information.At this time,comment field,which was provide by the Internet media,where netizens could exchange ideas and thoughts on some specific news and issue presented by the website,has become an important part of citizen news participation.Netizens walk out of their private sphere,stated to provide opinion and supervise the authority in the comment field,shaping their citizenship at the same time.It is so important,that the study on it must be very appropriate to help futher studies on the people's news participation.However,at present,in the respect of the network public sphere and the news participation,few works focus on the comment field,and even less work is based on the method of quantitative analysis.From the empirical perspective,this dissertation started from the content analysis of some aspects on the construction of public reason,and futher analyze the factors of public sphere.The dissertation would conclude state of the comment field,and come up with some suggestions in the aspects of news participation and news production etc..With the use of content analysis method,the dissertation selectied Pengpai News,Southern Weekend,Phoenix News,Sina News,Tencent,and Today's Headlines 6 websites and 12 event topics as samples.With the help of Octopus collector,the study got comments of the selected news reports,and sampled 1726 final sample from them.By quantifying the proportion of statistics,this study found that,in the comment field,the degree of comments freedom,relevance,expression efficiency,complexity,diversity of views is high,and can reach a consensus.On the whole,the comment area has basically reached the basic requirment to construct the public sphere.In the second part,the dissertation studies the factors that influence the public opinion of by logistic regression.It found the emotional and interactive factors may make the comments more attacked,and more polarized.It also found that the traditional media and speech is more likely to bring consensus and in-depth comments.The article also examines the deletion of those comment fields,and in the most serious deleted website,citizens have a higher degree of consensus,but the depth of thinking become less.In the conclusion,though the dissertation concluds that the network comment field is a kind of public sphere,but also has the characteristics of fragmentation,low social,media agenda setting,public opinion panels,etc..As a kind of public sphere,in the comment fields people can participate in the discussion of authorities.Finally,the article points out that although the comment area has a certain public sphere characteristics and positive roles,but the current use efficiency is not high.
