A Comparative Study Of Data Journalism Of Chinese And Foreign Medias In Rio Olympic Games

The Olympic Games condensed the multitude of focus and attention as a sport event which attract global media attention.Many medias use data journalism as a new report way in Rio Olympic Games,since The Guardian use data journalism to report in London Olympics,2012,which had a great significance for the development of Olympic or media revolution.Meanwhile data journalism not only provides a new perspective and ideas for Olympic coverage but also accelerating the media's future news work.Data journalism is a way of news reporting in big data era,which is evolved by the Explanatory Journalism,Investigative Journalism,Precision Journalism and Computer Assisted Journalism.The operating processes of data journalism relys on data mining,data analysis and data processing technology,interactive designers and professional team,which put forward higher requirements and challenges for journalists and journalism education.This paper works on data journalism in Rio Olympic games reporting,which to explore the origin,evolution and development of data journalism as a way of news reporting,to explore the production process and compare the characteristics of different types of data journalism.In summary,the media coverage of the Olympic media in the main areas of the Rio News,namely the Olympic medal report,athletes report,the game coverage and the Olympic economic coverage of the five areas.We use the British "Guardian",BBC and domestic Xinhua,Network and Sina's Olympic data news works as examples.According to comparative study,we analysis problems and causes about the development of Chinese data journalism.
