With the fast development of network technology and the improvement of image graphics processor performance step by step,online games is a booming industry and now become a mainstream form of entertainment.Online games rely on the Internet server support.At present the popular server select the high power and high speed Central Processor Unit which make calculation for data and graphic together in the market.With the 24 hours continue running every day,the temperature of key component rise result in the speed become slow and the system is instable.The thermal stable of system is very important for game supply.So the thermal design improvement of speed and stable for the high power server are becoming one of the most important research topic in the recent years.The paper select 2U Game Server as the research object,the study focus on the thermal simulation design,according to temperature test and power test and velocity test with the experiment to verify design feasibility and theory calculation,then optimize the thermal design base on thermal simulation and thermal test.This paper firstly introduces the design method of mechanical cooling parts,such as the selection of system fan,the selection of heat sink,system air duct design,according to the above principles,complete the heat sink selection,fan selection and system layout of each mechanical module,completed the design of wind duct and air duct and system open hole of 2U game server.Secondly,this paper studies the modeling method of server thermal design simulation analysis,completes the prototype assembly and basic function testing,and combines the temperature test,power consumption test and flow rate test to analyze the feasibility of the solution.Finally,comparion the test result of the temperature test,power test and velocity test to simulation results,points out the reasons of the differences,according to the simulation system of flow distribution and the actual test data,optimize the rear CPU2 area air duct design,all the key components meet the cooling requirements.
