As a highly competitive and vigorous new sector in the world,the IT industry has far-reaching consequences for many aspects in our life.Thanks to the technical innovation in the IT industry,MANs and access networks have completed their digital transformation.So the study on the efficiency of optical receivers used in MANs and access networks based on optical fiber communication becomes a hot topic and it is also a highlight in this disertation.The significance and the status quo of the research on optical fiber access technology at home and abroad were briefed at first in the dissertation.Relevant contents of optical network was detailed,with its importance in computer networks and its great promise introduced at the same time.The advantages and disadvantages of optical access technology were analyzed;classification and application scenarios of the mainstream technology FTTx,together with PON and multiplexing technology were presented in this dissertation as to the receiving and sending parts of the optical receiver,the antenna was introduced and analyzed;an analysis of the maximum and minimum values of the constant K in the hyperboloid formula concerning the antenna was made,thus deducing the antenna's focus formula as well as the relationship between light intensity and the antenna aperture;finally,an optical communication model was established for the simulation of optical communication.A comparative analysis of the data collected from optical communication with varied transmission capacity,transmission distance and photo-electric detection module was made.When an avalanche diode is used as the photoelectric detection module,the error rate in the optical reception was considerably improved,and the efficiency of the optical receiver was bettered.In this dissertation,detaied analysis was made of some types of parameters of antennas required for improving optical reception efficiency,such as distance,speed and photoelectric detection module.It has confirmed that photoelectric detector materials play an important role in improving the effciency of the light receiving.
