In this paper, a dynamic transmit control protocol applied on plastic optical fiber (POF) access network based on optical code-division multiple access (OCDMA) technique is proposed. A point-to-point communication is realized and a simple optical fiber communication system is constructed.Recently, POF has received much attention due to its prospect of offering high bandwidth. In addition, it has the following virtues that are light weight, flexibility and easy maintain. All above make POF a very attractive candidate for transmission media in access network. It requires that the bandwidth of system is larger than that of signal being transmitted in CDMA system. So POF access network combined with CDMA become possible.More and more new unit joins the network as the growing of network scope. To resolve the problem a novel protocol of POF access network is proposed in this paper. The number of data channels does not restrict the number of units in the network. This protocol can efficiently support variable-sized messages, and any new unit can join the network at any time without requiring network initialization. The network throughput and average delay using various system parameters have been investigated by numerical analysis and simulation experiments. It is showed that the dynamic control protocol in this POF access network based on OCDMA technology is valid and efficient. In this paper, a new method is also proposed which adopts POF as a transmitting medium to set up local area network (LAN). The point-to-point communication system is constructed which is divided into five parts including the part of the clock, the part of the M array, the part of the CMI encode, optical fiber transmission part and the CMI decode part. Agilent Technologies' fiber optic components "HFBR-1505A/2505A" are used. The signals can be sent from one place to another accurately and quickly using the designed circuit in the paper. The simulate experiment of this system are finished and its results are show in the paper. Last, optical receiver and transmitter circuit is designed which can match with the RJ-45 interface and also POF could be plugged, A Full Duplex communication can be realized between two computer in the experiment.
