The full coverage of 4G network leads to the great changes of application terminals from the previous notebook computers to universal popular smart phones. The scale of 4G network and the number of users begin to increase rapidly.Correspondingly, the usage frequency of operator's WLAN networks begin to gradually decrease, and a large number of equipment begin to run without any traffic.Major operators are generally faced with large power consumption of WLAN network, but the problem of declining profitability. In response to the national call of energy saving, emission reduction and green production on all walks of life, through the analysis of the WLAN network's equipment components and networking mode, this paper explores how to remotely control the switching power of WLAN equipment. From the WLAN network coverage and use frequency, this paper designed and developed a practical management platform.By analyzing the collected data, the management platform can judge the off time period and the range of shutdown equipment. We deployed this system in several regions and verified the expected goal of energy conservation. This paper analyzes and solves the issues of energy-saving and consumption-reducing of WLAN network in daily maintenance work for operators.Test results are in line with the objectives of the design and planning.By the validations and analysis,we confirmed the possibility of energy conservation and emission reduction in the controllable cost, and the proposed approach also makes a good demonstration on the energy-saving methods of relevant 2G,3G,4G and base station main equipment.
