Objective: Studying the data that the students of Guangxi Medical University borrow library' books from 2014 to 2015 and master the borrowing habits and rulers of medical students, then provide a reference for improve the library's quality of service for readers, and optimize the allocation of resources.Methods: Collected student' information, readers' information of library,library information, borrowing books information from 2014 to2015, and pretreat the data by data integration, data cleaning, data conversion and so on. (1)Using the cluster analysis method, divide readers into three categories by borrowing poly, then count up and analyze the distribution of graduate students,undergraduates and junior college students who in the three categories; Count up and analyze the distribution of boys and girls who in each categories; Count up and analyze the distribution of different grade students who in each categories;(2) Divided the day of borrow a book and the day of return a book into working days and rest days, and divided the day of borrowing and returning into five categories by the method of clustering analysis, then analyze the situation of returning and borrowing in working days and rest days ;(3) Using the method of cluster analysis divided the book into three categories by the quantity of books lending, and then count up and analyze the distribution of the different classification (classified according to the Chinese Library Classification) books in that three categories.Results: (1) the student borrow 6.5 books in library on average in 2014 -2015 year, the proportion of students who did not borrow book is 42.0%, the proportion of students who borrow 1 to 13 books is 42.9%; undergraduate students' per capita of borrowing book is 7.9, graduate students' per capita of borrowing book is6.1, college students' per capita of borrowing book is 3.9;girls' per capita of borrowing book is 6.7, boys' per capita of borrowing book is 5.1 book; Grade 1 to grade 5 students' per capita of borrowing book is 7.8, 7.3,5.6,4.4,2.1. (2) The proportion of borrowing is 9.0% between 8:00 to 10:36, the proportion of borrowing is 20.4% between 10:37 to 12:00, and the proportion of borrowing is 19.9% betweenl4:30 to 18:13, the proportion of borrowing is 18.9% between 18:14 to 20:26; the proportion of borrowing is 31.8% between 20:27 to 22:00. (3) the proportion of borrowing about medical(R)is47.8%, the proportion of borrowing about literature(I) is 18.3%, the proportion of borrowing about language(H) is 11.0%, the proportion of borrowing about biological(Q) is 4.0%; Literature(I) books are borrowed 7 on average,philosophy (B) are borrowed 7.9 on average.Conclusion: (1) There is fewer students borrow library books, and there is larger proportion that students do not borrow book or borrow book occasionally.Undergraduates, graduate students, college students' enthusiasm of the borrowing is decreasing; girls' situation of borrowing is better than boys; the enthusiasm of the borrowing degree reduces from grade one to grade five. (2)The maximum quantity of borrowing is 1.5 hours before closed; the minimum quantity of borrowing is 2.5 hours after opened. (3) Students' interesting increased in an order from medical, literature, language to biological, most of students' objective is assist their professional courses, learning foreign language,or improve their literary accomplishment.
