Xiake Island is an official account created in February,2014.It was at first casual thoughts of 5 young men who work for People's Daily Overseas Edition,and now one of the most important new media platform of People's Daily Overseas Edition.During interviews,the author finds out that,as an official account mainly focus on interpreting current politics,the success of Xiake Island is due to the transformation of its creativity.It has expanded its authors from insiders to experts and scholars and adopted new methods of live webcast and video clips on the basis of texts and pictures.This program is inspired by the exploration of providing video clips on Xiake Island.Being lack of experience,the team firstly makes an investigation on video clips produced by known media and commercial platforms from home and abroad so as to learn from their experiences and work out practical short-term plans,then based on the actual situation of Xiake Island,a new section of video clips named "Speed Reading" is opened.The new section is aimed at the young generation and well-designed in terms of topics,contents and forms.The last 13 issues of the new section have turned out satisfactory and set basis for providing regular video clips on Xiake Island in the future.
