SDN technology,as the most likely alternative technology innova-tion to the traditional routing and switching technology,has a great impact and profound change to the communication network with its control plane and data plane separation characteristics.SDN technology is greatly used into practical commercial applications,including the use of cloud computing,the backbone network and wireless access network environment.It greatly enhances the security,scalability,quality of service and other functional parameters.In this paper,SDN-based network virtualization technology is explored.The network virtualization application consists of SDN controller,Open vSwitch switches,hosts and other components.SDN controller and'Openvswitch communicate with each other through the famous OpenFlow protocol and the hosts exchange data via Open vSwitch.The SDN controller provides the logic to secure the isolation between the different virtual network,the connectivity within the same virtual network,etc.Bandwidth guarantee feature is provided by queuing technology of Open vSwitch and the SDN controller will set the respective behavior.In a cloud environment,the joint provision of bandwidth and host has more advantages than the scheme that only concern host.With the introduction of the bandwidth factor,the joint provision can be modeled as a mixed integer programming problem.By solving the optimal solution of the problem we can determine the provision of the bandwidth and host for the user.This solution can handle with the user's uncertain demand.The GAMS software will be used for simulation in this paper.In this paper,we introduce the background and technical basis of SDN and network virtualization.A flexible and efficient network virtualization system in common environment and a joint provision solution of the Bandwidth and host in the cloud environment are introduced in detail.And the system verification and simulation analysis of the two technical points are shown respectively.It's an useful exploration of network virtualization with SDN.
