Traditional radio platforms are usually based on specified hardware circuit,which have defects,such as poor versatility,large volume and high cost.It is difficult to meet the needs of the new generation of communication on throughput and versatility.Software radio platforms use the universal software and hardware designs,which is flexible and versatile.This thesis studies a dual antenna software radio platform with the advantages of high throughput and versatility,based on PCI Express.Then,the platform is applied to the implementation of wireless transmission of LTE(Long Term Evolution)data frames.The main research contents are summarized as follows:Aimed at the problem of low throughput and poor versatility,a hardware framework of the dual antenna software radio platform is proposed.The performance indicators of each board are given,and the budget of throughput in the dual antenna radio system is calculated.Then,two different schemes for RF front end are studied.Considering that zero-IF architecture has a higher flexibility and integration,MAX2829,an integrated transceiver chip is selected.Then,hardware design of RF front-end board is completed,including the filter network,power,PCB(Printed Circuit Board)layout and routing designs.Finally,an algorithm of automatic gain control,as well as control process based on MAX2829 is realized.A PCI-E interface based on FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array),supporting dual antenna transceiver is implemented.It includes the design of physical layer transceiver module and DMA(Direct Memory Access)transformation module.Then,the designs of global clock and clock-crossing domain transmission are implemented.Finally,the performance tests of RF board and the function tests of dual antenna platform are completed.The main contribution of this thesis is design and implementation of the dual antenna platform.In the meantime,the platform has been applied to the verification of LTE algorithm with practical significance.
