In recent years, with the rapid development of radio systems, the traditionally hardware-basedmethod of wireless communication system design can not adapt to demand for multi-mode,multi-band radio communication. Software Defined Radio draws more and more attention. Thebasic idea of software defined radio is to build a universal hardware platform. Analog to digitalconversion is close to the antenna as much as possible, software define the system. RadioFrequency (RF) front-end technology is one of the key technologies of Software Defined Radio.RF front-end features include low-noise amplifier, filter, mixer and other functions. The analogRF signal is converted into the analog Intermediate Frequency signal, and the A/D and D/A rate,accuracy can meet the need of direct sampling of analog RF signal.This paper firstly introduces the common RF front-end structure of Software Defined Radio,briefly describes the background and the major work of my subject, and analyzes the technicalspecifications of RF front-end. Secondly, according to the requirements of the RF front-end ofRadio Frequency system, The RF front-end requirements are researched and compared in this paper.Each function module is designed and the appropriate device is selected. Including the design ofreceiver circuit of RF front-end, the design of RF front-end circuit, the design of LO signal sourcecircuit. Finally, the schematic of RF front-end is presented.
