Design And Implementation Of Service Oriented Network Management Policy Execution Engine

With the development of computer networks,the use of network management is becoming more and more complex,and traditional network management cannot meet the requirements of users.Policy-based network management is one of the solutions to break through.Current researches of policy-based network management are either a description of the policy model without implementation,or with an implementation process of a specific scenario which is lack of generality.This paper discussed the implementation of the policy implementation process,combined the policy-based network management and Web Services technology,aiming to achieve a platform independent,flexible and general network management policy implementation process.This paper discussed the implementation of network management policy execution process and then realized a network management policy execution engine.First,a policy model is proposed and the requirements of the system are analyzed,and the process is separated into policy decision part and policy execution part.Policy decision part is designed to recognize policy event by a notification and judge the policies with policy conditions,and policy execution part is design to execute policy actions.Second,the prototype system is developped according to the requirements discussed above,especially the dynamic invocation client and the mechanism of parameter assignment.At last,a network management policy execution process is realized with flexibility and generality.In this paper,first a general process of network management policy execution is introduced,which is triggered by notifications,depending on a policy base,and executed through Web Services.Then the system is realized,focusing on the way to launch a dynamic call and the process of setting values to parameters.
