The continuous improvement of people's living standards in recent years has encouraged more and more people to go for traveling.Scenic areas and tourist attractions have attached great importance to the provision of convenient,safe and standardized services to the tourists who are mostly non-local visitors and therefore confronted with difficulties when finding their ways in the surroundings.Accordingly,it is not uncommon for them to loose their way when traveling around.Incidents of abnormal death have occurred in scenic areas and tourist attrctions in recent years due to the poor management of the tourism administration.The lack of manpower with the tourism administration has made it difficult to locate as soon as possible the missing tourists and interferes with the searching and rescuing operations.It is therefore necessary for the scenic areas and tourist attractions to keep track on the time period between the tourists' s entry into and exit from the venues so as to pinpoint their locations.This thesis is written on the basis of the aforementioned background to elaborate on the use of the Radio Frequency Identification technology for the obtaining of the tourists' location through real-time positioning by arranging for the tourists to wear the location card or e-tickets in the form of electronic tags.The visitor positioning and tracking system consists of such key components as the readers,positioning tags,base stations and system software platform.All the managerial staff of the scenic areas and tourist attractions need to do is to enter the information of the tourists and arrange for the tourists to wear the location cards or e-tickets in the form of electronic tags before finalizing the binding between the card and the tourists' information for the sake of positioning.The system will collect the tourists' information and store the tracking information for positioning when the tourists enter the areas under video surveillance.The managerial staff can search for the positioning information by entering the name of the tourists,the start time and the end time.At the same time,in order to monitor the behavior of tourists,the system has established an early warning mechanism to enable the administrators to specify the areas forbidden to visitors and the cap for the maximum number of visitors that can be accommodated in a particular area.If the visitor enters the monitored area,the system will activate the early warning mechanism in the particular area.The alarm will be triggered if the visitors' behaviors measure up to the alarm condition of the monitored area.The system will then send out the alarm signal and store the alarm information to realize the linkage alarm on the visitor behavior.In the first part of the thesis,the author analyzes the background and significance of the research as well as the tourist tracking system at home and abroad Then need analysis is done for the formulation of the framework for the functional models on the basis of the analysis on the work flow,the functional requirements and non-functional requirements following an elaboration on the basic concepts of the RFID,the work flow and the hardware structures.Based on need analysis,the thesis goes on to lay out the design for the framework of the tourists' positioning system and the conceptual structures and physical structures for the database.Detailed design and realization are made from the five functions that include tourist management,equipment management,positioning monitoring management,linkage alarm management and system management.Test is made on the tourists' positioning system from the perspectives of functional testing and non-functional testing to ensure the safe and stable operation of the system.The tourist location tracking system based on RFID has been put into use in many scenic area.The system can automatically pinpoint the time information and location information of the tourists in the scenic spots and make available the monitoring and auto alarm on the movement of the tourists,which will significantly boost the ability to improve security management and play an important role in the promotion of the standardized management of the scenic areas and tourist attractions.
