Nuclear control system plays an important role on operation safety and stability for nuclear power plant. It is so logically complex that we need a lot of time to develop the control program. Furthermore, the less experienced engineers tend to make mistake during the developing process. In this paper, we developed a graphical modeling software of control system for nuclear power plant which has the advantages of easy operation and wide applicability. Compared to manual programming, graphical modeling will improve accuracy and efficiency of modeling and simulation.In this paper, we focused on the develop process of simulation program for control system and graphical modeling software. Firstly, logic flow chart for each controller was analyzed on the basis of control mechanism. Then we designed Scientific Apparatus Makers Association (SAMA) icons for graphical modeling according to the designed logic flow charts,and we built SAMA logic flow charts on human machine interface by the previously designed icons. After that we analyzed topological relations between the different icons of logic flow charts, and got search order of the icons by depth and breadth coordination search algorithm.Afterwards main programs were generated according to the search order, meanwhile the related subroutines and configuration files for controllers were generated. In order to realize joint debugging with controlled system of Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant, the programs were loaded in SimExec simulation platform. Finally the control program was debugged on the human machine interface.The results show that the graphical modeling software can fulfill different demands including building graphical solutions, generating program for controllers, loading program on simulation platform and debugging online. The software accelerate the develop process for control system simulation software. Meanwhile the simulation results illustrate that the control system simulation program developed by the graphical modeling software can realize satisfactory control results.
