With the ocean working environment becoming worse, the competition of marine engineering equipment market continuously strengthening, the needs of customers increasing greatly, and the function and structure types of the ocean engineering winch getting more and more complex, the traditional design technology faces the great challenge to satisfy the demand of the modern marine engineering equipment. Aiming at the fact, taking the ocean engineering winch and its development and design of one certain enterprise as the research object, the digital design system consisting of the digital product design, simulation analysis and optimization design is built, which contributes to shortening the product development cycle, saving the cost, reducing the development risk and improving the design accuracy. The main research contents are as follows:Firstly, the CAD/CAE system integration is studied on the basis of mastering the digital design theory and its key techniques. The VC development platform is adopted to achieve the integrated development of the CAD/CAE system. The database is developed on the platform to realize the data transmission between the CAD and CAE systems, which can improve the development efficiency and guarantee the accuracy of data transmission. The contents are served as the theoretical support for building the object-oriented digital design systemSecondly, the information model, constraint network and geometric model of key parts are established according to the working mechanism, main structures and the design theory and combined with the parametric modeling technology. And then the parametric design system which can finish the design and modeling of standard parts, custom parts and series parts of ocean engineering winch is built.Then, based on the established digital model,its digital simulation analysis and optimization design is studied. The drum assembly and brake assembly of ocean engineering winch are taken as the object for the statics analysis to make sure they can operate normally under rated conditions. Moreover, the size optimization design for the drum is conducted, and the lightweight design can save costs in the premise of ensuring the strength of the drum.Finally, after having a good understanding of the development process and strategy of the software system, the integrated development for the above CAD/CAE system is conducted based on the VC platform. The complete ocean engineering design system includes three modules: the digital product design, finite element analysis and optimization design. Its feasibility and accuracy are validated by the examples of several key parts.In this paper, based on the digital design of mechanical products, the integration technology of CAD/CAE system supporting the digital design system of the ocean engineering winch is studied. To start with the digital modeling, the rapid establishment technology of product model is studied, then the finite element analysis and optimization design is conducted,and finally the system platform matching the winch design characteristics is developed. The system has obvious advantages in shortening the design cycle and improving the design quality, which can be served as the references for the product development and design and has a certain value in engineering application.
