Large scale marine power plant simulator is widely used in the maritime education training, scientific research and engineering design. It has reached quite a realistic effect in simulation and visualization. At the present, there are two common applications about the marine power plant simulator. One is the education training, where it's mainly used for evaluating the level of maneuvering and fault diagnoses for crew. Another is system analysis, performance prediction, engineering design and so on. In this aspect, the simulators are mainly used to simulate the design environment or the performance prediction of marine power plant, and make analysis about the system or identify the engineering design. But when related to crew training, evaluating the maneuvering level of manipulators in the simulation environment is the mostly concerned for education training.However, in the present simulation training for crew, the evaluating is people-orientated all the time, and it doesn't have an objective, uniform evaluation criterion. The coaches usually make the evaluation score according to their own experiences, so the human factors are large in the evaluation results and the objectiveness, reasonableness and effectiveness cannot be guaranteed.This paper, based on the large container ship power plant, has completed the following research work:1. This paper designed and developed a PC based simulation platform of the crew marine intelligent examination system, and provided a visual simulation platform for the students'actual operation.2. In view of the shortcomings of man-made evaluation in the existing simulation system, this paper, based on this platform, presented a test structure used for the marine power plant simulator and intelligent evaluation for the first time, and then achieved an evaluation model of operational examination and a general inference algorithm. This simulation platform can give the score automatically according to the actual operations of the students and the test criterion. 3. An effective combination of the simulation platform and evaluation system was made, and a marine intelligent examination system based on PC was developed. The system can be used in the single board training system of marine power plant simulator and also could be an important part of the national crew examination systems.
