Photonic crystal fibers(PCFs)have extensive application prospect in the field of sensor due to their flexibly structure,anti-corrosion,anti-interference and tiny size.Meanwhile,surface plasmon resonance(SPR)technique shows great potential for sensing applications with the advantages of high detection sensitivity and the great range of measurement.Combining with the advantages of both,a series of research about different structure of PCF-SPR sensors have been done in simulation and experiment.The designed sensors are both analyzed by finite element method(FEM)and demonstrated by experiments.In this paper,the main content and innovation can be attributed as follows:1.The PCF-SPR sensors based on metal film plated holes are introduced in the first place fully.Then the influence of coating thickness and metal material on the sensors' performance are emulated in COMSOL.After that the best coating parameters have been given and the advantages brought by selective coating holes are studied.Considering the difficulties of coating metal film and filling sample in the tiny holes,we designed a new kind of PCF-SPR sensor which is based on coating around the cladding of the fiber.The sensor sensitivity and resolution are studied during the changing of holes' diameter.2.For the good of minimally invasive blood glucose detection,a PCF-SPR glucose sensor filled with silver nanowires is proposed.After the research with different diameter of the filled silver nanowires,we find out that the best value range is 90-120 nm.And the maximal sensitivity is 19009.17nm/RIU.Meanwhile the minimum resolution is 44.25mg/dL which is lower than the standard of hypoglycemia syndrome.In other words,the practicability and reliability of this design are confirmed.3.This part firstly presents the light-guiding mechanism and characteristic as well as the applications in the field of communication and sensing of hollow-core Photonic Bandgap Fibers(HC-PBGFs).Then we design a SPR sensor based on this type of fiber,also related simulation and experiments are implemented by altering the number of silver nanowires and the structure of fiber cladding.The feasibility is proved by comparing both results and the best sensitivity is obtained as 14240nm/RIU when we choose HC-1550-01.
