This paper designs a UHF RFID reader receiver that meets multiple protocol requirements.The receiver includes both RF front-end and analog baseband.The main modules of the receiver are designed based on 0.18?m SiGe BiCMOS technology.The main results are as follows:(1)Through the literature research UHF RFID reader current development and research status.The paper introduces several major protocol standards,including:EPC Global C1G2,ISO/IEC 18000-6C,FCC,ETSI and China 800/900MHz RFID draft.System specifications are developed according to protocol standards.(2)The classical receiver structure and its advantages and disadvantages are analyzed in this paper.The structure of direct conversion receiver which is simple and conducive to integration,is the choice of this design.(3)Carrier leakage is the difficulty of UHF RFID receiver design.This paper analyzes the influence of carrier leakage on the receiver,and designs a RF front-end in which an on-chip feedback based solution is implemented to eliminate the self-jammer signal.The key parameter of loop stability,noise performance and linearity are analyzed.The analysis and design of each module are completed.The simulation results show that in the talk mode,the RF front-end P1dB is-21.74dBm,noise figure is 22.57dB and power consumption is 145.4mW;in the listening mode,P1dB is-22.45dBm,noise figure is 11dB and power consumption is 70.88mW.(4)The analysis and design of analog baseband circuit is completed.Analog baseband circuits includes pre-amplifier,eighth-order Butterworth low-pass filter,automatic frequency calibration circuit and DC offset cancellation circuit.The simulation results show that the gain range of the analog baseband circuit is 10?70dB with 10dB/step.Four cut off frequencies can be realized:250kHz,600kHz,1MHz,1.3MHz.The cut off frequency deviation is less than 10%with the help of the AFT circuit.The signal attenuation at double frequency attenuation can reach about 40dB.Total power consumption is 29.568mW.
