Since the extraordinary transmission phenomenon was discovered by Ebbesen in 1998,the mechanism and application of the phenomenon have become a hot spot in the field of optics.Remarkable results have been achieved in the field of optical devices due to the extraordinary transmission phenomenon,so the application of microwave devices has attracted more and more scholars' attention.With the deepening of the research,the antenna,filter and other microwave devices have also made technological breakthroughs.In this paper,the extraordinary transmission phenomenon applied to antenna design,the gain and performance of the antenna improved effectively.In this paper,mainly do the following work:1.Elaborated and analyzed the physical mechanism of extraordinary transmission phenomenon:Surface Plasmons Polaritons theory,Resonant cavity theory,Composite Diffracted Evanescent Wave theory.2.The equivalent circuit method of periodic metallic slits and the transmission characteristics are analyzed and the reflection coefficient and transmission coefficient are calculated based on the basic theory of electromagnetic field.Compared the results of the equivalent circuit method with the result of HFSS software,a good agreement are found,so the effectiveness of the method is demonstrated.3.The phenomenon of extraordinary transmission is applied to antenna design,and the high gain slot antenna is designed based on the equivalent circuit model.The aluminum plate is etched with a symmetrical groove and a metal wall is arranged on the periphery,then the antenna performance is improved effectively.The simulation and measurement results indicate that the antenna can covered 10.88GHz-11.06GHz,11.48GHz-11.68GHz,14.60GHz-14.90GHz,15.38GHz-15.87GHz,and the maximum gain can reach 22dB.
