Research Into The Application Of Weibo And WeChat In University Libraries In Henan Province

In recent years,as new media platforms such as Weibo and WeChat have experienced fast development,many university libraries have joined in providing services via new media communication,and Weibo and WeChat are playing an increasingly important role in university libraries' service delivery.Currently,Weibo and WeChat are still at the development phase at all domestic university libraries,and although there are many documents devoted to the research on the use of Weibo and WeChat at domestic university libraries,but most of them are for a single form of new media research,there is little literature devoted to the libraries' use of Weibo and WeChat on information service,and in particular the use of Weibo and WeChat on information service at university libraries in different provinces and regions.This research takessome of the university libraries in Henan Provinceas examples,from the perspectives of library Weibo and We Chat platforms' set-up and users.It conducted online surveys on factors such as opening time,the number of article feeds,update frequency,authentication,and services of library Weibo and WeChat platforms,so as to better understand the current situation of Weibo and WeChat platforms' establishment at university libraries in Henan;and made questionnaire surveys on factors such as the user groups,frequency of use,purpose of use,user experience,user satisfaction and users' continuance intention of the libraries' Weibo and WeChat platforms,so as to understand the users' current application of the two platforms at university libraries in Henan.Taking into consideration the current situation of Weibo and WeChat platforms' establishment at university libraries and their users' current application of these platforms,this thesis analyzes the performance of Weibo and WeChat platforms at university libraries in Henan from the perspectives of libraries and users;and on top of this,it further concludes existing problems of information services of the two platforms at university libraries in Henan,and proposes recommendations and strategies for improving Weibo and Wechat platforms at university libraries in Henan,giving constructive guidance for improving media service efficiency in the future at university libraries in Henan province.
