Nowadays,various types of wireless intelligent terminals appear in daily life of people,with uneven data processing and storage capacity.Based on the requirement of constructing a heterogeneous wireless ad-hoc network,a set of communication protocols were developed,so that different performance nodes can process data according to their own performance and efficiently carry on data sharing and exchange,and build such an ad-hoc network system.Theoretically,the network architecture,network characteristics and research hot topics of wireless ad-hoc network were analyzed,and the wireless sensor network was introduced firstly.Secondly,a set of basic requirements were summarized,which was about how to design a set of feasible and well understand the wireless ad-hoc network communication protocol,besides,the focus in the study of this topic was mainly on the routing protocol in the network layer after step by step analysis of the architecture of wireless ad-hoc network communication protocol.After comparing some of the characteristics of existing various routing protocols,a benchmark procedure was used to perform a reasonable performance evaluation on the node and record the node performance information,through which the route process was controlled dynamically based on the AODV route protocol.Finally,the modules of the communication protocol were designed,which mainly includes confirmed retransmission,various packet types and format definitions,route discovery process,design of route table,data information transport and routing maintenance based on the heart beats detection.From the perspective of project realization,the heterogeneous ad-hoc terminal software was developed on the Ubantu system platform using the Java language,which based on the three-tier architecture and completed the developments of all function modules including the node performance evaluation,routing request,routing response,routing maintenance,text data transport,routing table query,console real-time information to display,GUI and log record through using multi-threading technology,singleton pattern,producer and consumer model,the observer pattern,simple factory pattern and other technology and design patterns.In the end,in order to test the protocol,five heterogeneous nodes was built to form an heterogeneous wireless ad hoc network experimental system which was composed of the ZigBee wireless network module and three kinds of terminal of Linux,Windows PC or Linux system Tiny210 ARM development board.Then,the basic routing functions of the software,application scenarios and speed of protocol transmission were tested.With the result of the experiment were analyzed,the protocol and the software in the heterogeneous wireless ad-hoc network possessed basic availability,self-adaptability,extendibility and stable transmission speed.
