Texture baking is a kind of means to increase the realism of images.It takes less resources and is simple to use,which effectively solves the problem of speed and quality of the real-time rendering of computer graphics.So it is widely used in production of film,animation and video game.We implement a texture baking system for the Modelo scene format.The system is based on RenderAnts,a GPU-accelerated RenderMan-compatible rendering system.Thanks to RenderAnts for its high-speed and Out-of-Core architecture,our system has a lot of advantages over existing systems(V-Ray,etc.)in terms of speed and memory footprint.First of all,we have RenderAnts itself a number of upgrades to support texture baking.At the same time,we use the UVAtlas system to reconstruct a new set of UV coordinates for texture baking.In the system design,we support different versions of the Modelo scene format and spherical harmonic environment lighting,and use batch processing to support large scene rendering.Last,we add the global adaptive tone mapping and anti-aliasing as image post-processing module.
