With the further research on the next generation mobile communication system,the base station network may face the transition from the traditional distributed operation to the centralized operation.At this time,the communications network will face the dramatic increase in data traffic,high bandwidth and low latency challenges.Infiniband is the key technology to overcome bandwidth and latency bottlenecks.With its low latency channel technology,low overhead communication,and highly reliable communication features,these advantages make Infiniband one of the interface technologies concerned by the next generation of mobile communication system.Background of this article is that the mobile communication distributed base station transfers to the centralized base station.The paper deeply analyzes the working principle of IB interface and controlling management mechanism.First,the paper analyzes Infiniband protocol framework,advantage of protocol and the function of each layer.Second,the paper analyzes the specific controll mechanism of HCA,including command control register control mechanism and user access register control mechanism,infiniband communication mechanism and subnet management mechanism.Finally,the paper researchs design ideas of using FPGA to achieve IB interface configuration and management controller,including the design of initial configuration and the design of user parameters.Based on the above research contents,this paper builds the IB interface in the form of PCIE link interconnecting FPGA and HCA.One end of the interface is connected to the IB subnet through the IB network cable and the other end is connected with DDR through data cache.The working principle of the interface is through the IB interface configuration and management controller in the FPGA,controlling the HCA initialization configuration and management.IB interface configuration and management controller includes HCA control module,high-speed mapper module,Special Queue Buffer module,control word module,etc.,and it is to complete interconnecting BBU and RRU through infiniband technology.In this paper,we use the custom initialization configuration scheme,self-defined command number,multi-level parallel state machine and the self-designed topology detection process and subnet monitoring mechanism to complete the implementation of the Infiniband protocol in the way of FPGA.Then this paper verifies the designment from separate module to the module integration to ensure the design of the rationality.Finally,after the layout and routing,the paper make the analysis of the use of resources and static timing.Through the simulation,it shows that indicators of the IB interface configuration and management controller achieve the desired setting.By analyzing the static timing report,it shows the Timing of the controller can reach 250 MHZ under the condition of setting the data bit width of 256 bits.
