With the fast development of computer technology, telecommunication technology and network technology,Web application programs based on browser/server application pattern becomes more and more popular. There are two mostly used ways nowadays in developing web application. One is traditional and the other is based on the MVC model(Model View Controller).Compared with traditional way,the advantage of the developing model based on MVC is that it separates business logic from display logic. This separation reduces the complexity of web application system's design and fulfills the requirement of complex applications. Therefore, the latter is the first choice for software developers.Struts is the framework based on J2EE platform and MVC design pattern. It eases the burden of constructing multi-layer web application and provides reusable software architecture. In this thesis, the Web system based on Struts framework is investigated. The J2EE platform is used to develop a information system. The Struts framework consided here has three levels, namely presentation layer, business logical layer and data access layer. The three-layer structure of J2EE application development based on Struts framework can maks the program structure and the duty of every layer clearer.Furthermore,it can decrease the complex of the program.Struts framework is the most popular MVC structure nowadays. But it has some shortcomings and difficulties. In response to these problems, this thesis has done some research and given some improving proposals. In the end,the expansion Struts framework was used in the rectification of BoHai university online test system. It proves the expansion Struts framework can make good use in real applications.
