The new media era has brought unprecedented development of information technology. New media technology has changed people's lives, and also caused the friction and blending of various cultures. With the popularization of youth subculture, youth groups put more energy on the construction of self-expression and self-identity, and the spread of folk culture in youth groups encountered cold reception, which awakened our new forms of folk culture transmission Discussion.This paper aims to find out the ways to solve the interaction between folk culture and youth groups from the perspective of interdisciplinary research in sociology, semiotics and design, so that folk culture can be integrated into the daily life of young people. This paper first analyzes the various schools of youth subculture and its development, and analyzes the characteristics of youth subculture in the new media era. Combining Pierce's theory of visual semiotics and Baudrillard's consumption symbol theory, The cultural symbols, visual symbols and consumer symbols were analyzed. At the same time, it analyzes the user experience needs of the youth groups by using the Maslow hierarchy theory and user experience requirements, and provides the most basic needs analysis and design direction for the user experience design of the youth subculture groups. Through the case analysis of the global youth media Vice and "90" App to determine the theoretical importance of youth subculture characteristics. Then, it discusses the combination of youth subculture and folk culture, and arranges the elements of folk culture which accord with the characteristics of youth subculture. Finally, through the design case-folk culture information App design, the previous theoretical research and case studies were integrated and applied.From the perspective of youth subculture characteristics in the new media age, this paper analyzes the lack of interaction between folk culture and youth groups, and provides a new way of thinking for the solution of the problem. The aim of the creation of folk culture communication media is to make the youth groups have more awareness and opportunity to participate in the change of folk culture. At the same time, we hope to promote the spread and development of folk culture by the initiative of youth groups in the new media age.
