Wireless sensor network (WSN) is a data network system which is composed of a large number of low-cost sensor nodes. WSN is mainly used in network coverage for the collection of information, analysis and processing, and can ultimately return the key data to the control center. As the wireless sensor network has shown high scientific value and great practical value in national defense, industry and agriculture, urban management, biomedical, environmental monitoring, disaster relief, counter-terrorism anti-terrorism, hazardous area remote control, and many other fields, it caused many countries highly valued.As one of the key technologies of wireless sensor networks, sensor nodes localization technology not only has an important role in the application of wireless sensor networks, but also is the basis of objective monitoring and tracking. This thesis based on WSN nodes localization proposed a localization algorithm with energy attenuation characteristics.The primary works in this thesis are presented as follows:Firstly, this thesis introduces the background and status of sensor nodes localization algorithm.Secondly, this thesis introduces the basic concepts of WSN nodes localization. The WSN system is briefly described. Then the localization algorithm is divided into five categories which are introduced respectively. And their advantages and disadvantages are analyzed.Thirdly, based on above study we propose a WSN sensor nodes localization algorithm with energy attenuation characteristics. Then, the thesis discussed in detail in its basic principles, system model and calculation steps, etc. At last, the thesis used the software--Matlab to test the new algorithm.Finally, the thesis adjusted several key parameters of the new algorithm, to seek ways that can optimize the algorithm and test the conditions of the algorithm. Then, the new algorithm and two common similar localization algorithms were compared.Simulation results show that, the algorithm has high accuracy, low distributed, fault-tolerant capability and complexity, etc. It not only can improve the performance of wireless sensor networks, but also can reduce costs, it is conducive to large-scale application of wireless sensor networks.
