Optical fiber wave plates are the basic devices for optical fiber communication,optical fiber sensing and all optical signal processing systems.The performance of optical wave plate depends on the characteristics of the piezoelectric ceramic,and the performance of the piezoelectric ceramic depends on its drive circuit.In this thesis,the driving circuits of piezoelectric ceramics have been studied deeply,and the fiber-based wave plate based on piezoelectric ceramics has been fabricated.The concrete work is as follows:(1)The characteristics of the piezoelectric ceramic and the typical driving circuit are analyzed.In order to meet the requirements that the optical fiber wave plates can achieve a variety of polarization states conversion,two types of driving circuits are designed,which are used for digital voltage control and analog voltage control,respectively.(2)The driving circuit has been fabricated according to the schematic diagram,and the drive circuit has been modified according to the problem we found in the experiments.The feasibility of the two types of driving circuits is tested.On comparison,the analog voltage regulator control circuit is selected as the experimental circuit.(3)A wave plate system has been designed and built,and the performance of piezoelectric ceramic driving circuit has been tested.The experimental results show that the designed analog voltage regulator control driving circuit can drive the piezoelectric ceramics well and control the polarization state of the light passing through the fiber.
