Design And Hardware Simulation Of Vector-net Switch

With the rapid progress of computer science, intergration of speech,data as well as multi-media business is urgently needed. However, in current situation, none of these network is able to meet people's thirst for communicating at any time, in any space, using any mode, thus a new kind of network is imminently expected to solve the various problems faced by current one. As a result, the NGN(Next Generation Network) become a focus all around the world, while the next generation switching technique undoubtly becomes the key of the research.Current network is based on IP, in which the routing and switching technique has many problems in it. Firstly, the function of routers is over-complex, which is hard to realize efficient data transmission; secondly, as connectless oriented network, IP can't ensure QoS. Besides, the problem of address drying-up can't be untimately solved. After analyzing the defect of switching system in IP, the conception of vector net is put forward. Vector net is a new kind of network which intergrates the merits of all current network. Firstly, it inherits NGN's idea of two separation: separation of business and calling control and sepration of calling control and transmission, which improve the network efficiency greatly; secondly, using variable-length address coding method, vector net solves the address drying up problem. Besides, aiming at access control,QoS, mobility,multi-broadcast,vector net also put forward clear solution.This essay focuses on the routing and switching technique of vector net. After analyzing defect of routing and switching technique of IP net as well as the requirement of switching technique in NGN, coding method and data transmission process are put forward. Vector net separates the routing and switching function, route module is responsible for routing and maintaining the network topology, while switches can only transmit data packet according to assigned route. In coding method, vector net using the sequence composed of output port of the devices passed by data as its switching address; in switching approach, the data transmitton process of vector net is similar to "source routing ",which not only omits table looking-up ation operated at every hop in traditional router, but also can change to standby path rapidly when encountering net work failure, which lower user's loss to least and ensure their QoS greatly.After principal analysis, this essay builds hardware simulation platform according to the design idea of vector net switch. The MCS-51 is used to analog vector net switch, through programing orresponding switching code and serial communication code, the validation of the idea of vector net switch is completed.
