At present,China is in steady stage of the museum development that public museums turning into free and private museums' subsidy are increasing,and the need for museums to play their functions should also be followed up.As the main channel that museum to play their social educator's roles,the communication function of museum need to gather more attention.At the same time,the study of museums communication function and the study of museum informatization are becoming more important in museum research.Therefore,the study of museum communication from the perspective of Communication is necessary.Due to the difference of collection in museum of trauma and collection in traditional museum,museum of trauma's educational function and communication function become more critical.From the perspective of Communication,author discusses the subject of visual communication in museum of trauma and the necessity of its existence.Secondly,author summarized the characteristic of visual communication in four main visual media linking to museum of trauma – texts,pictures,architectures and exhibitions,new media.Author find the characteristic of the texts is as a supplementary description;the characteristic of the pictures is authenticity,intuitive and emotional;the characteristic of architectures and exhibitions is they complementing each other and constructing an emotional space;the characteristic of new media is scene reconstruction.Author uses these characteristics as the basis for the problem setting in the case study.After that,Author using the analyze about visual communication in physical,psychological and narrative view to explain how museum of trauma influence people by its visual communication.This section will be the base of theoretical interpretation of finding.During case study,author choose Museum of Japanese War Crimes against China as the study case,which building in the Jianchuan museum.Author divided the questionnaire of survey into two part,one part searched respondents about overall impression came from their visual receiving,the other part tried to measure visual communication effect of four foremost visual communication media.According to the statistics,age and gender have a certain impact in visual impression shaping.Meanings is more important than appearance when consider about texts in the case.Pictures in the case has an ideal effect in its visual communication.While the link in visual between exhibitions appear to be weak,but it's good in emotion exciting.The dynamic exhibitions have great communication effect than narrative film by watching.Finally,author found three key point in the visual communication of museum of trauma.They could be concluded as paying attention to tendency of theme,treating object exhibitions as the basis part of museum,being aware of the visual characteristics of different medias in exhibition.Also,author gives corresponding suggestion to four main media in the museum of trauma.Different from traditional research about visual communication,this article extended the meaning of the object of study,and mainly use the visual communication's theory to discuss communication effect of the museum of trauma.Author using case study as verification method to verifying visual communication principle and influencing factors above.Due to this,author also resulting several advices to improve museum of trauma.In the visual communication of the museum of trauma,this will help.
