Fibre channel technology is a kind of high reliability,fast transmission and real-time transmission technology.With the high-speed development of the network,it is particularly important to store massive amounts of data transmission,and reliability issues related to information transmission has been a research hot spot.Because of its excellent properties,fibre channel technology has become an important technology in network transmission.Fibre channel technology can be applied to a storage area network and avionics system,the fibre channel switch is the key equipment in exchange network,also it is the core equipment in storage area networks,to achieve data transmission and exchange.In this paper,based on the research of the fibre channel technology agreement,we design a fibre channel switch,the switch transmission rate can reach 2.125 Gbps.it has simple structure,and its transmission performance is good.Modular division of the switch,we use the Verilog hardware description language to design it,and do the function simulation and debugging.This paper first introduces the background and the development situation of the fibre channel technology,and has made the simple description of fibre channel protocol on fibre channel service type,hierarchical structure,type of topology and nodes.In this paper,based on the fibre channel protocol,then through hierarchical modular partition,we design the application of FC port in point-to-point transmission technology,mainly including the FC-0 layer,FC-1 layer,FC-2P layer design implementation.In this paper,on the basis of fibre channel ports,we make a simple introduction on existing switches,and do a lot of research and comparison for the exchange of existing structure and scheduling algorithm,then design the fibre channel switches.The exchange of internal structure and scheduling algorithm is the core of FC switch design,in this paper,the exchange structure is CICQ cross cache structure,input scheduler using LQD scheduling algorithm,the output scheduling using RR scheduling.Through the design of each function module,we put forward the overall design of switch architecture,and made a detailed description on the internal segmentation strategy,the restructuring strategy,routing policy.Finally,we design the switch function simulation and concrete implementation in FPGA,and introduce the debugging of FPGA verification platform simply.We adopt the modelsim simulation software function simulation,adopt Xilinx virtex-5 series XC5VFX70 T FPGA development board to carry on the concrete implementation,debugging assistant with the chipscope online debugging,then we give the waveform diagram of the simulation and debugging.Simulation debugging results show that this design of the FC switch has correct functions and good performance.
