The Design And Implementation Of Campus Security System

Colleges and universities are important places and institutions where talents of our country are cultivated.With the deepening,spreading and development of higher education in China,the socialization of rear service makes the security of campus more prominent.Intelligent campus refers to the campus environment within which working,learning and living are all integrated via the high-speed internet.As a sub-system of the intelligent campus,the security system is composed of the video surveillance system,campus entrance management system,examination monitoring system and comprehensive management system.Due to the increasingly developing security technology,the security system based on video surveillance can monitor the campus Omni directionallyand all-weatherly with the help of manpower as well as the high definition and intelligent surveillance technology.The construction of security in colleges and universities has gained in development conspicuously after the great effort within recent years,but such deficiency is obvious as lack of integrated management platform,which will fail to resolve the shortage of security personnel in the campus fundamentally,because of being unable to detect the hardware problems and demanding too much manual intervention.This paper believes that,in connection with the characteristics of higher education domain,with the advanced equipment,the high-speed internet and the integrated management platform,the security systems constructed in different locations and during different periods can be integrated.All the surveillance points can be made into a powerful security net.The similar surveillance points in campus can be deployed in a centralized way,and those points within the same area can coordinate and informthe personnel in chargevia the alarming system.Also,some new functions are explored and integrated into the system,so as to increase its performance.These are surveillance environment around the school,using GIS and choosing proper face recognition algorithm for the entry module.Ultimately,the purpose of combining personnel,instruments and technology is achieved.
