At an era with the social economy as well as the science and technology achieved great development, with the sustainable advancement of the Triple-play and the construction of Next Generation Broadcasting Network, the limitation of the traditional digital TV set-top boxes is emerging as the users' demands has a big growth. Therefore, based on Android, the digital TV set-top boxes entered a new stage of rapid growth, for which not only equipped with the basic function of the traditional TV set-top box, but also with intelligence and networking.This thesis brings forward the design and realization of the Android digital TV set-top boxes based on MSD6A801 chips, the subject adopts a quad core Cortex-A9 STB chip of ARM framework with low consumption and high performance,possessing 1.2GHZ frequency, supporting Android 4.2.2 system, good at multimedia decoding, as well as supporting HEVC hardware decoding and 4K2 K ultra HD. After the intensive study of the correlation technique of the digital television, Android system as well as the digital TV set-top box hardware and software system, this subject designs the digital TV set-top box software on the basis of the Android digital TV set-top boxes, realizing the function of program scanning, electronic program guides as well as conditional access system, etc.This thesis did a research and introduction on the classification, function as well as the operation principle of the digital TV set-top boxes, introducing the important DVB standard system of the digital TV correlation technique in detail, which mainly includes MPEG-2 standard, transport streams, video and audio PES package, program special information, service information, etc. Accessing to the cross-programming language with the help of JNI technology on the basis of the above standard systems, which not only improve the efficiency of the platform porting as well as provide protection for the operating efficiency and safety. This thesis elaborates the design principle and implementation steps of program searching, electronic program guide and conditional access system, etc. Three searching methods, manual search, automatic search as well as the whole frequency search are realized. For electronic program guides, real time receive program parade of one week as well as brief introduction have achieved. For conditional access system, has achieved the conditions of the terminal system integration, providing support to user authorization as well as problems solving. The author set out a detailed test and verification plan on the basis of the subject requirements, this thesis made an introduction from aspects of full- screen watching TV programs, programs searching, electronic program guide, conditional access system as well as the stability, made a description on the result of test and verification.By so far, the function of the TV set-top boxes has basically realized as well as reached its expectation, accessing to the market after the various authentication with well feedback, TV set-top boxes run stability, which indicating the correctness and feasibility of this design plan.
