Android operating system holds many wonderful characters such as open source,good portability, Currently,application based on this platform is very abundant, it has beenwidely used in smart TV, game console terminal, digital cameras and other electronics.The new generation of digital TV is gradually changing towards the direction of smart TV,which requires more powerful operating system support.This thesis will consider to portedthe Android operating system todigital TV chip, in addition to achieve the basic functionof watching digital television, it can be extended with a lot of applications, expandinguser’s application space. This papper first analyzes the hierarchical division of the set-topbox software framework, make sure of each layer function which needed to beimplemented. and then in combination with the specific hardware environment Hi3716C,considering the main migration scheme.The main work is as follows:Development environment set up: build the software development environment fortransplantation process, including the selection of the operating system, install JDK,Python and other dependent libraries,configure the environment variables ofcross-compilation link tools.Transplantation of Android kernel:Mainly implement the work of Compare thedifferent between Linux kernel and Android kernel, then configure the Android Kerneland compile the kernel to generate kernel image–zImage.Transplantation of file system: compile the Android project source code andaccording to the generated file system directory, use mkimage2yaffs tools make the rootfile system, then burning file system image and kernel iamge,splash screen,bootloaderand other files images to Nand flash, at last analyszed the loading process of file system.The analysis of Audio system and video output system: analyse the Audio system andOverlay system, which including the AudioFlinger work mechanism and Overlay layersarchitecture, mainly focused on the implementation of HAL layers and transplantation ofhardware drivers.DVB broadcast scheme analysis and design: analyse the working principle ofintelligent set-top box, transplant the dvb driver, design a program to play digitaltelevision video base on DVB API and Android mediaplayer frameworks.
