Universities nowadays have establishes their own digital campus systems due to continuous improvement of information technology. However, with the rapid development of mobile technology, these systems are now begun to show their shortcomings. Smart mobile devices today deeply change the way people live and learn. It is much easier to access information by leveraging mobile technology. Traditional Internet and mobile network are now comingling with each other. Hence, digital campus system is the trend of future development. How to use smart mobile devices for campus information service has become an important topic.This paper focused on the current situation of digital campus platform, designed and implemented a wireless digital campus system based on Android. The main contributions of this paper are:1、Analyzed the components and features of Android system in detail.2、Illustrated various technologies and protocols that would be used in the wireless digital campus, which included database, Servlet, Baidu Map API, and user-based collaborative filtering algorithm.3、Designed the system framework. Servlet+Tomcat+MySQL is used to develop server support while JSON is used to develop client application and communicates to the server.4、Established case model based on student demand survey and built in different client side modules which included campus map, campus new, campus fleet market, lost and found, campus take-away, class enrollment, contact list, course schedule, teacher roster, classroom locator, and etc. It also includes server side data management module.5、In the last section, the paper discussed the result of unit test and showed that the system is robust, easy to use with good performance and friendly interface. The design meets the initial expectation.6、In addition to achieving the each functional modules, this paper also innovate the traditional way of elective course, which combine with user-based collaborative filtering algorithm to provide the function of recommend courses. The function quantify the personality and interest of students by matrix model, and provide a precise, personalized recommended courses according to the calculation results, also help students choose the most suitable courses.The wireless digital campus system discussed in this paper serves as a bridge that connects traditional Internet platform and mobile network. It not only made it easy for users but also increased efficiency of digital campus performance. The platform pushes the campus work toward a direction where it becomes more convenient, more scientific, better institutionalized, better streamlined and much more efficient, which will definitely accelerate the progress of campus information and network development.
