The ancient book is Chinese culture treasure, which is an important part of national cultural heritage. At present, there are two main information collection method of ancient books, one is collecting entirety photograph information by scanning or photographic and the other is the summarization of literatures. But single overall image information has been unable to meet the professional and deep-level needs, and color characteristic, microstructure and material composition of ancient books need to be colloceted more comprehensive,which also has important significance for the preservation, identification,protective restoration and reproduction of ancient books.In this paper, multiple digital methods of information collection are used to change the single colletion method of image information to the diversified omnibearing collection ways of whole and microcosmic image, even material compositions, and the imagine of using these information is put forward.First of all, this paper combs the collection method of image information and its principle by using the Document Flatbed Scanner HP Scanjet 8270,Canon Scanner CanoScan 8800 F,the Color Scanning Scanner Cézanne FT-S5500, the Self-service Book Scanner book2 netKiosk A2 and the digital camera Nikon D7000 equipped with the prime lens 35 mm f/1.8G, comparing the image quality of different resolutions and magnification, to summarize one method which is more suitable for information colletion of digital images of ancient books. And the color management technology is used in image colletion to compare with image information without the color management,proving that the color management is very important in the digital image information collection technology of ancient books.In additon, the spectrophotometer X-Rite Swatchbook is used to get color characterization of paper and ink of samples. And depth-of-depth video microscopy KEYENCE VHX-600 K 3D and laser confocal microscopyKEYENCE VK-X200 are used to analyze the morphology of the printing characteristics and the printing materials of the ancient books. JOEL JSM-6610 LA scanning electron microscopy energy dispersive spectrometer was used to analyze the composition and content of the elements. Raman spectroscopy Horiba Jobin Yvon Xplo RA is also used to analyze constituents of ink pigments. It can be concluded that the constituent information collection of digitalization of ancient books can improve the information collection of ancient books more comprehensively. It also shows that in the perspective of cultural relic protection, the information collection of color characteristic,microstructure and material composition of ancient books plays an important role in protecting and repairing ancient books.Finally, on the basis of the experimental data, the field table, which can show the all-round information of the ancient books, is designed, and is preliminarily prepared for the preliminary design of the database of ancient books.
