Predicament And Breakthrough: A Study Of Legal Newspapers In The Perspective Of Professionalism

Journalistic professionalism is formed in the time of traditional news,which requires journalist reporting the news in impersonality, reality and accuracy, and excavating the truth of the matter. Its outstanding features including impersonality, reality, independence and freedom. Though it's new media time now, journalistic professionalism is not outmoded. It requires objective reality, relies on media gate-keeper and supports journalist do professional and responsible interview, which agrees with our journalism essentially.In the history of Chinese newspaper industry, the legal papers once was flourishing. In the 1980 s, the legal papers have the largest circulation and reading rate in various regions. While in recent years, with the development of new media, the living space of print media is shrinking. Specialized legal papers encountered bottleneck during the process of developing market. The lack of journalistic professionalism concept causes some development difficulties, such as scrambling for news blindly, lack of deep and professional reports, freedom of the press being excessively amplified, media responsibility inefficiency, etc. The issue and advertising of legal newspaper gradually decline and even some legal system to shut down or publication suspended.However, Henan Legal Daily, as the only legal papers in Henan province,by carrying out special issue & special edition, scheming large-scale series reports and famous column, paying attention to brand value, exploring media convergence positively, finally realizing double breakthrough of circulation and advertisement. This paper takes the development of Henan Legal Daily as a case study, to analyze and explore the problems of its breakthrough strategies,regard as: during the process of exploring and developing new media,proceeding survival breakout, legal papers should pay more attention to the concept of journalistic professionalism and advance with the times, regressing to the purpose of “content is king” to run a newspaper. In order to attract the reader, we should publish a large number of deep reports on the base of reality,impersonality, comprehensive and profession, excavating news fact deeply,analyzing various information comprehensively, guiding audiences to think social issues deeply, be responsible for guiding fairness and justice, driving the society to be more harmonious and progressive.
