More and more income of broadband service providers come from different kinds of video services、interactive games base on internet,、high definition television、video webcast and call conference become more and more popular, these multimedia services bring the money rolling in and also have a higher network bandwidth requirement. Driven by the high bandwidth requirement, which with high definition and big data flow as the main feature, and on the background of "Light into copper retreat" on broadband network, PON technical has become most popular for all telecom operators on the world.This paper design a new EPON OLT transceiver which data rate up to lOGbps、 reach up to 20km.This paper introduce the solution through the background analyze、 resolution design、how to make it come true、test data and so on. The main work include:(1) The current status of the optical network and optical communication, and what is the limit, how to improve it.(2) In order to compliant with current PON network, we design 10G EPON OLT transceiver.(3) Base on above point, this paper include main solution design, electrical schematic design, mechanical housing design, firmware and software design, and finally make the transceiver come true.(4) Test the performance of 10G EPON OLT transceiver, we get the test data and result, and then we can see the advantage and disadvantage.Generally speaking, we make a 10G EPON OLT transceiver come true, which is low cost and has good performance. This transceiver improve the access network bandwidth, and contribute to the development of the company and the industry.
