Airport terminal is designed to provide personalized and comfortable environment for the travelers, the failure of equipment in it will directly affect the passengers to board normally. With the rapid development of intelligent building in recent years, it is meaningful and very necessary to achieve the real-time collection and monitoring for the equipment operating parameters. Therefore, about the elevator operating parameters and temperature information in the terminals, a real-time monitoring system has been designed to ensure the efficiency of the airport and serve the passengers betterly.Based on studying the communication principles and techniques for wireless sensor networks, the corresponding peripheral circuits and the driver code for the hardware modules has been designed using the microcontroller MC9S08GT60 as master chip for the design of node, which was combined with the actual functional requirements.Because of the countless device nodes in the terminal distributed widely, the LEACH protocol was chosen as wireless routing protocol. However, the communication will be affected directly due to the short network lifetime cycle and uneven energy distribution of the nodes. Therefore, the LEACH protocol was improved and optimized in two aspects of cluster head selecting methods and energy consumption. The improved protocol algorithm was simulated by MATLAB, which was proved to have an advantage.Finally, the system monitor interface was designed by using Visual C++6.0 and Access database, then the test results were displayed. The expected purpose of system designing is achieved.
