The Application Of VPN Technology In The XUST GaoXin Campus Network

Due to the rapid growth in education line and expansion of university branch campus, traditional usage of network is no longer able to cope and satisfy the demand of data transfer. VPN uses the public network resources for private data encryption transmission technology which provides the same level of network data security. Meanwhile, it reduces the cost of networking. As to the usage of VPN in university, enterprises, governments and financial sector globally, it provides a more secure and broader application prospects.The dissertation is based on the purpose and mission of digital campus network information platform of Xi'an University of Science and Technology, Gaoxin college, firstly, it is need to access to relevant information, besides, it has done lucubrate for application field and security key technology of VPN in the deep analysis and research of VPN on the basis of related technologies and applications. Among the intensive study of VPN, it is detailed discussed the VPN tunnel technology and its working principle, moreover, three kinds of commonly used tunnel protocol are introduced, which including PPTP, L2 TP and IP sec. Then, it has analyzed and designed a set of the application scheme of VPN in partition network of the campus network.However, the scheme using VPN technology to realize virtual private network connection between multiple campus.Next, it has given the security network model design for campus network and the important function of identity authentication and security code in VPN technology is verified through an example of the network, thereby it has realized the area division of accessed the network resources from campus network of college extended to anywhere that could be connect to the Internet; provided extra net through the way of VPN access to campus network, meanwhile it's to optimize the management of internal resources by using VPN technology, which contribute to eliminate isolated island of information, has realized campus network resource of the long distance, remote, security access.Finally, it is to indicate the feasible and effect of the scheme by experiment to test the information transmission function and performance of the VPN research network, VPN framework and VPN tunnel.
