The building of campus network in university around our country is alwaysthe most important part in the strategy of rejuvenating the country throughscience and education, in recent years with the rapid evolution in IT field thenetworking technology of university has had lots of changes. How to make astable, high-efficiency and innovative way to solve the low performance, lack ofnetwork security as well as unreasonable loading balance because of increasingbusiness traffic without funding is a very thorny problem. The research purpose of this paper is to find a high-efficiency, low-cost andeasy implementation way to solve many problems in campus network includinglow-efficiency of data forwarding and network security problems caused byvarious kinds of applications and concurrent flow. Having read lots of papers anddone actual tasks the author analyzes situation of campus network throughly andobtains the shortcomings and remediation action after that we research MPLStechnology deeply and summarize its features and superiority, while import thistechnology to the campus network on demand, to resolve the problems of it. Forcomparing the performance difference before and after MPLS import directly inengineering field we use CISCO2691series and CISCO3745series routers toemulate the environment of campus network based on Harbin University ofScience and Technology to analyze its general characteristics and operationsituation after that we capture the device config, data structure and forwardingdelay to do the lateral comparison and draw the conclusion of using MPLS incampus network of university is significative. Finally through a series of introduction, analysis and comparison we obtainthat MPLS does can optimize the campus network of university and solveexisting problems, do the innovations among different engineering field.
