In recent years, virtual reality technology has been rapidly developing. Because of the high efficiency and vivid display effect, the virtual reality technology based on panoramic image has broad application prospects. The production process of traditional panorama is complex and needs several devices, which has high technology threshold. It is of great significance to work on finding a more simple and convenient way. This thesis mainly focuses on the research of image acquisition, image stitching and panorama roaming technology on mobile terminals.(1) In the image acquisition stage, we research on the rotation vector sensor on Android Device. By the remap of origin data and angle transformation, we construct a more intuitive image acquisition model, which is used to collect images to meet the requirements of the panoramic stitching. We study on that the overlap ratio of two images have influence on the image registration, and deduct the relationship between the rotation angle and image overlap ratio. The result shows that the best rotation angle is 28 degrees.(2) In the image stitching stage, we study on the feature matching method based on Speeded-Up Robust Features(SURF). In order to improve the feature detection speed, a 40% image overlap method is proposed. The result shows that the algorithm does not only reduce the running time by about 60%, but also improves the feature matching success rate. We use multithreading to enable the image stitching and image acquisition to work simultaneously, which reduces the waiting time after the end of the image acquisition.(3) In the panorama browsing stage, we research on the method of panorama browsing, especially by using OpenGL texture mapping. Then we realize a cylindrical panorama browsing system which runs smoothly and has good display effect on the Android platform.On the basis of theoretical research, the thesis realizes an Android APP of panorama virtual reality system which has good effect of panoramic stitching and panorama browsing. It has stronger real-time capability and makes more convenience compared with the traditional methods.
